Synopsis:
When a self-conscious young woman discovers the boy in drama class is actually the immortal who painted the world into being, she becomes the target of another painter who hates humanity. The Earth Painter is a Young Adult Supernatural Romance set in the small mill town of Chesnee, SC. It revolves around Holly Scruggs, who's family has just moved back to Chesnee after her dad lost his job along with pretty much everything they owned. Her image conscious parents correct her to the point of brokenness until she meets Theo. He is the artist responsible for all the beauty of the land and he thinks Holly is beautiful too. Together they will fight against Fritz, the water painter who hates humans and is hiding a secret under the high school.

Did any of your characters give you a difficult time while writing this book?
None gave me a difficult time. Mrs. Strickland popped up out of no where. And I really wanted Holly's mom and Shelby to have some sort of turn around, but that just wasn't in the cards.
Do you relate to any of your characters?
Sort of. My parents were very loving so not in that, but in finding who I was in a drama class. yes, that happened to me.

Do you have anyone that has helped to inspire you when writing “The Earth Painter”?
My good friend, Kimberly cheered me on quite a bit, along with my neice Contessa.
Are there any other books you are working on that you would like to tell us about?
I'm writing The Man Painter right now. It's the sequel to The Earth Painter. But as I'm writing that, a new character has shown up in my head. She starts as a little girl found shot under her mother's dead body. She ends up in love with a spark from space. I can't tell much more than that right now. The working title of that is SPARK.
What three words would you use to describe Holly?
Insecure. Brave. Talented.
Was anything from the book based on a personal experience you have had?
I went to the high school in the book and it was knocked down and new one built to replace it...or was it. :)
What do you like to do in your down time?
Read, hang out with my boys and my wonderful husband.
Who or what got you into writing?
When I read Twilight I remembered that I used to want to write. I thought having 3 little boys had put an end to that dream, but it woke up and I realized I could do both.
Where or how did you get the idea for Theo?
I was putting away laundry in my kid's room and the story started.
