My Thoughts

True Love Conquers All

I was so excited for this book and I was not disappointed. In this book not only are the characters facing a new unknown threat, but our hero and heroine must do the unthinkable in order to find a way to stop this new evil from destroying them all.

Like most of the Kindred series we got to meet Lissa and a bit of Saber in “Pursued”. Unlike the rest of the series these two actually knew each other since they were children and both of them are Kindred. Seeing how they both interacted with each other it was plain to see that they were both deeply in love. Unfortunately because of their society’s archaic laws they are not allowed to be together.

I loved the tension that was in this book. Although at times I wanted to scream at them for being so stubborn. Romance where the characters were childhood friends are some of my favorites and this one was no exception. I like seeing them being able to laugh and enjoy spending time with one another without actually getting physical. It makes me really believe that when all is said and done they will always be there for each other. Being friends since they were little they worked very well together which was good since they would be working Very closely on the female dominated planet of Yonnie Six.

I really like how creative this author is and we really get to see that creativeness put to work in this book. Yonnie Six is both intriguing and frightening at the same time. Females on Yonnie Six are the dominant species. They treat males as nothing more than mere animals and some of their punishments are horrifying to say the least. It was interesting to see a world where Females were the dominant ones, but I can definitely say I much prefer the Kindred way of equal partnership.

The thing I like most in this book and really all of the books that Evangeline writes is that even though this is a romance the characters do not just jump into bed together. The book is set up somewhat like a courtship in that we get to see more and more sides of each character and there is enough time for some tension to build
before they take that final leap.

Friends to lovers in Exiled!
