Haunting memories.
Terrifying dreams.
Crippling lies.
Trapped in the world of deception, my sanity rests with the love of Ryder Arteres and our renegade friends. Six months of scouring the ocean floor in a rebel
ship fleeing our homeland, delivers us to a possible alliance with the
opportunistic European Council. Our only hope is to utilize our forbidden gifts
to free our people from slavery, proving our worth. But when a trusted ally
turns traitor and a new breed of the queen’s weaponry is revealed, I’m forced
to face the terror of my past to save our crumbling future.
My Thoughts:
In this second instalment we are taken back into the
dreadful and dangerous journey of Semara and Ryder where they are within a
submarine which is headed towards Europe. Semara is learning more and more
about her gifts and she is trying her best to control it. The team along with
Raeth navigates through dark and dangerous waters which they often found to be
mined! Yes, you heard me right, guys. They work as a team and continue their
quest to join the rebellion but soon someone close to them, their ally with
turn against them and there is the super evil Queen who has her own malicious
plans and is approaching Semara. Loyalties will be tested, betrayals will
wrench hearts, dangers will overcome confidence and you’ll be left breathless
at the end with a huge cliff-hanger which will make you want more of it.
This sequel is totally rocking! With butt-kicking action,
heart stopping suspense, pulse raising mysteries, shocking revelations,
unpredictable twists and turns and dangers lurking on every corner this story
will take you on a whirlwind journey where you’ll share each and every emotions
that the characters suffer and become a part of the world that the author
created.
The characterization is superb and I’m really happy to watch
Semara develop throughout the story and we have a fully flourished Raeth who
stole the show for me. The writing style breathed life and magic into the story
and took the story into a different world. Special touch of romance and just
the correct amount of humorous touch made this an intriguing read.
If you haven’t started this series then I’ll surely
recommend you this book but don’t forget to go through Book 1 - Escapement (Goodreads Review) before you start Pendulum so that you can enjoy every bit of this thrilling and
enticing read. Happy reading folks!
