       My Thoughts:

Rating: 3 Stars

I got this book from the author and the publisher, free of cost, in exchange for my participation in the Virtual tour of Adela.

Firstly I would like to thank the author and the publisher for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

To be honest I didn't like the book very much and it would like to sum up my thoughts in one word i.e Average read. I liked the concept and the story line had the potential but somewhere the author lacked the skill of enhancing it's entertainment value and making it a master-piece.

The characters are a bit sketchy but I liked the flow and the fast-pace of the book very much. The author has a good writing quality which kept me going till the end but this story lacked the drama and punches that's required in every good story.

I felt the story very much predictable so to be it wasn't mysterious at all but I liked the touch of action and a little bit of humor here and there. Overall an average read which could have been much better if it's potential would have harnessed in a proper way. Don't get me wrong but I felt that after some chapters the author's link with the characters and the plot got severed due to some reason.

Hope to get a much better experience when I pick up another book by the author. This read is definitely worth a shot so go ahead guys and get your copy, may be you'll like it more than I did !!!

Author Interview:

Question: What have you published recently?

Adela was the most recent being published the last week of November and The Guardian was published in summer.

Question: How, and when, did you decide to become a writer?

I have had nudging from teachers ever since the 8th grade and one day someone pulled my card and said I would never publish anything. Pushing me to do something doesn’t touch me much, but telling me I cannot results in quick actions.

Question: Where can we find your published writing?

Amazon

Question: What is a typical day like for you as a writer?

I guess this is the part that you want me to give a Hank Moody response, but to be honest I write in short stints; normally, I will get an idea and sit down for two weeks after work and pound out a story. My daily life involves, Aikido, I am a member of Interregional Federation of Aikido Aikikai of Crimea & Sevastopol, where I study from great men and women, but Sensei  Louis Van Thieghem from Belgium and  Sensei Sergei Sheremetyev from Ukraine  are my favourite two. Sensei Thieghem has been instrumental in me learning to control my Ki and finding myself.

Question: What are your favorite characters that you have created? Tell us about them?

For me it would have to be Adela, she is so strong and sexy with moral ideals that makes her want to protect all of them around her. To be honest, people ask me who influenced this character and I had thought and thought about it and there is only one of my friends that it could be, Elena Romanova  is the only one it could be, she came to America speaking no English and had created her own Empire. We have joked about her coming from Ukraine and us switching places. Of all of my friends I am most proud and in awe of what she has done. I think too often women characters are depicted as damaged items that need to be saved by a man, but for me I see the female Senseis that are around me and other powerful women in my life and do my best to represent them.

Question: do you find you “mentally edit” other writers’ works as you read them? Does doing this help you or bother you?

No, I tend to sit back and rather enjoy the story or not. Just because I do not enjoy a story, does not mean it is a bad story, it just means it is not my cup of tea.

Question: What music do you listen to, while writing?

Halestorm, The Slot, Disturbed, and Bleeding in Stereo.

Question: What do you eat while writing?

That is always changing; it just depends on my mood.

Five for Fun:

What is your favourite non-alcoholic drink?  Well that would be a good black tea.
What is your favourite cartoon character?  Optimise Prime
What is your favourite movie of all time?  Under World
What do you like to do for fun or just to relax?  I do a lot of different sports.

Question: Where can we find you on the web?

Anyone can write to me in English, Russian, or Ukrainian and I will understand, but Japanese I can only speak in it, I am still illiterate in Japanese.
