Goodreads:

After an unjustified two-century stint in purgatory, Scimitar Magus Dakar returns to the human realm, renewing his eons-old curse. Either he or the woman he loves must murder the other within days of meeting in each new lifetime. To break the vicious cycle, he must kill her before she strikes her deathblow, something he's never done in the past.

Archaeology grad student Shay McGinnis suffers a near-death attack in pursuit of a piece of Scimitar Magi lore. But did the magnificent warrior who pinned her to the wall injure her or the daemon he fought? In her search for answers, she draws the attention of both an ancient evil sorcerer and the warrior Dakar. The attraction between her and Dakar is instant, and for Shay confusing. She wants to be with him, but intuition equates him with death. Not random death. Hers.

Will this be the lifetime they break the curse before they are murdered by an age-old enemy or worse kill each other yet again?

***Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, action-adventure, and an exceptionally hot tatted hero.**

My Thoughts
Love is a battlefield.

With ancient curses and dangerous monsters to contend with Shay has a lot more to worry about than some ancient artifacts. The world building in this story was very well done. I loved how the author was able to interweave ancient myths and magic into the modern world. Their was also plenty of action and adventure in some exotic locales. Also there was of course a healthy dose of some steamy romance!

Shay is an intelligent and strong woman, but all her courage will be put to the test when she is attacked by an ancient evil. I enjoyed her wit an tenacity. She was definitely no quitter and pulled through even when things got tough. I also really enjoyed her banter with Dakar.

Dakar was one sexy warrior. He was strong, loyal, and a bit stubborn. I loved seeing him get to Shay. Their interactions were always interesting. He was a great hero and match for Shay. They really brought out the best in each other.

If adventure and romance is what your looking for, look no further than "Forgotten in Darkness"!
