Synopsis:
Since defeating Lord Scargrave with her music, Lucy, the last Chantress, has lived by the sea, mastering the intricacies of Wild Magic. But now her quiet life is about to end: the wheat crop has failed, the people are rebelling, and Lucy is called urgently back to King Henry IX’s court. There she finds the Inner Council planning to save England by making gold through alchemy. But the golden crucible — the critical element in the alchemical process — has been stolen, its guards murdered. Lucy is charged with finding the traitor behind the attack.
Meanwhile, enemies old and new are gathering. Scargrave's brutal Chantress-hunter has become King Henry's closest advisor. Lucy’s beloved Nat has fallen out of favor and is shunned by his colleagues; their romance means trouble for both of them. Worst of all, something goes wrong with Lucy’s magic. The palace is a labyrinth, and there’s a monster at its heart — a monster who may have the power to defeat Lucy once and for all.
Amy Butler Greenfield returns to the beguiling world of Chantress for a suspenseful tale of courtly intrigue, music, and magic in Chantress Alchemy.

RATING: 4 Stars !!!

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

Well, I liked the characters of the book very much and the main lead i.e Lucy , the last Chantress kept on developing as the story progressed. The concept is truly unique and the execution is awesome. I really loved the series of events that unfolded one by one and totally left me surprised.

There is kick-ass action and the heroine is superb and especially not a whimpering idiot. The suspense gave me goosebumps and the constant tension that whether Lucy will be able to find the critical element to the alchemical process has been stolen with her magic or not nagged me. The emotions were portrayed beautifully giving us the full access of Lucy's emotions and line of thought and I also liked the ending very much.

The writing style of the author is great but I have a small complaint and that is regarding the slow pacing of the book. Through out the book I felt this problem and it dimmed my excitement a little but that's just one negative point that I felt but as I'm being honest so I'll cut one star for that.

So guys I would definitely recommend this to you and hope that you'll like it as I did. So go ahead and get your hands on this great story. Enjoy !!!

About "Satarupa"

I'm from Calcutta, India (the kingdom of sweets). I'm is a final year college student struggling to get Bachelor of finance honors degree. I love books more than anything and like to hang out with friends, watch horror and action movies and I'm madly in love with vampires and warlocks. Other times you’ll find me with a worn out calculator punching the numbers and making accounts and ledgers (study stuff). In leisure time I sit with a book or my e-reader leaving the known world behind and losing her in the new worlds which the author’s create. I like to write down my thoughts and ideas regarding a story sometimes but never completed it but I'm planning to do so in future and will like to give a chance to my childhood dream of being a paranormal genre writer."
